Improved Server behavior with Windows (changing screen properties is now safe. Vncviewer is an Xt-based client application for the VNC (Virtual Network Computing) system. It can connect to any VNC-compatible server such as Xvnc or WinVNC, allowing you to control desktop environment of a different machine. You can use F8 to display a pop-up utility menu. Press F8 twice to pass single F8 to the remote side. With a VNC server running on the remote computer, you can use a VNC client on another computer to connect. TightVNC includes a VNC client – you can install TightVNC on another computer and deselect the server option in the install process to only install the viewer. Once it’s installed, you’ll find the TightVNC Viewer in your Start menu.
What Is It?
TightVNC Java Viewer is a program able to view and control TightVNC and VNC servers. Like a normal VNC viewer, it shows the remote desktop and allows to operate with your local mouse and keyboard as if they were directly connected to the remote computer. It can be used either as a standalone program, or as an applet embedded in a Web page.
April 21, 2010 – TightVNC presents new experimental release of TightVNC Java Viewer (version 1.5.1) which supports built-in SSH tunneling. This means you can easily add encryption and strong authentication to all your VNC and TightVNC connections and close direct access to TightVNC ports.
